I imagine many readers know me well, but my name is Christian Bakken, and in the fall of my junior year at Georgetown University, I studied abroad in Alanya on Turkey’s central Mediterranean coast. This program included regular class, but also numerous organized and independent trips around Turkey and Eastern Europe. This blog was created to share photos and recollections of these trips, as well as observations of what I found interesting about Turkish life, Alanya, and the progress of my studies. However, I had so much fun writing it that I decided to keep it as my repository of stories from all my international travels, even now that I have graduated (but I kept the original name, as Alanya will always be in my heart).
